What are Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers, also known as “soft tissue fillers” or “injectable filllers”, are an increasingly popular treatment used to decrease the prominence of wrinkles or enhance the volume and appearance of certain facial features, such as the lips, chin or cheekbones.
Injection of fillers, when combined with a local anaesthetic are quick and painless, and treatments are often complete in no more than 30 minutes. This leaves you able to return to work immediately after your treatment.

What does the procedure involve?
The procedure involves your medical practitioner performing a serious of injections to the desired treatment area. The dermal filler contains anaethetic to make the procedure more comfortable. If additional anaethetic is required, this can be applied before the injections take place. You will see the result immediately afterwards. There may be some redness and tenderness to the treatment area for the remainder of the day.
Am I suitable for fillers?
Most adults are suitable for dermal filler treatment.

You have a medical condition that affects blood clotting.
You are allergic to local anaesthetic.
What are the risks?
The most common risk is bruising and swelling. This is usually mild and self-resolves. Rare risks are infection and nodule formation. Risks specific to your procedure will be explained by your practitioner during your consultation.
