What is medium depth microneedling for?
Microneedling is an aesthetic technique used to rejuvenate the skin and reduce scarring. It is also referred to as dermal needling and collagen induction therapy.
The technique uses fine needles to create miniature holes in the skin. These holes act as a controlled injury provoking the skin to regenerate and repair. This will ultimately improve the appearance of the treated area, resulting in a smoother, more uniform and tighter skin.
When we use deeper microneedles we can treat moderate presentations of acne scarring, stretch marks and ageing.
What does medium depth microneedling involve?
Anaesthetic cream will be applied to the face or body for a period of 20-30 minutes before the procedure. The area will be uniformly treated with a roller or automated device which is composed of multiple microneedles. When these microneedles are applied to the skin uniformly, this minor injury provokes the skin to respond by creating more collagen and elastin which ultimately improves the overall texture and tone of the skin.
